Welcome to the Mumbai Chapter of CVS

Chapter Guidelines & Framework

As the CVS membership grows, Chapters of this organization will be opened in various cities/states in India and outside India, conditional to fulfilling the following:

At least 15 active members must request opening a Chapter in any geographical territory, verified for sustenance by the CVS governing council and approved.
Within 45 days of obtaining approval, they must elect their office bearers (President, Secretary, and Treasurer) and chairs. GC will send a nominee as an observer to ensure fair elections.
Chapters must strictly follow the Mission, Vision, and Bye-Laws of CVS, with roles and responsibilities aligning with the HQ.
Compliance: Failing any of the above continuously for 60 days places chapter recognition, voting benefits, and HQ financing on HOLD till rectification.
Autonomy & Finance: The Chapter works autonomously for day-to-day activities within CVS guidelines. Chapters retain 50% of membership fees paid by its members for operations. For paid events conducted by a Chapter, 25% profit is sent to CVS HQ.

Mumbai Chapter Organization & Inauguration

The inaugural function of the opening of the 3rd CVS chapter at CVS Head Quarters Mumbai was carried out on 5th February 2023. Hosted by Dr. T. Pyne (Secretary and Director General of CVS), the event commenced with a lamp lighting and Sarasvati Vandana.

Key Dignitaries Present: Dr. Harvindar Singh Gambhir (President of CVS), Dr. Nilaj Deshmukh (Chairman Mumbai Chapter), Shri Niranjan Bhise (Secretary Mumbai Chapter), Dr. Upendra Joshi (Vice–Chairman Mumbai Chapter), and Ananthanarayanan Iyer (Treasurer Mumbai Chapter).

A welcome address was delivered by Dr. Gambhir, narrating developments from the registration of CVS to the launch of this 3rd Chapter. The total number of members in the Mumbai Chapter currently exceeds 60, alongside one active student Chapter (FCRIT Student Chapter).

Recent Initiatives & Events

Faculty Development Program on Advanced Maintenance Practices

Faculty Development Program (FDP)

Theme: “Advanced Maintenance Practices and Vibration Diagnostics”

Organized by FR C Rodrigues Institute of Technology (FCRIT) in association with the CVS Mumbai Chapter, this intensive five-day event (June 26th to July 1st, 2023) provided students and faculty members with comprehensive insights into industrial machinery diagnostics.

The program featured interactive sessions, practical demonstrations (including DAQ systems and Modal Analysis), and expert lectures from industry leaders like Forbes Marshall and Honeywell. The event served as an excellent platform for networking and hands-on skill enhancement.
